Overview
I Look to You is the seventh and final studio album by American singer Whitney Houston. It was first released on August 28, 2009 in Europe, followed by releases in other territories later in 2009. Conceived after years of personal struggles, the album took more than three years to complete and reunited her with longtime mentor Clive Davis, who assembled songwriters and producers such as Alicia Keys, Akon, and R. Kelly. Rather than following musical trends, Houston and Davis focused on timeless songs that highlighted her signature vocal style. Its lyrics reflect themes of faith, recovery, motherhood, perseverance, and personal resilience, making the album a deeply personal comeback statement.
