Jerome Hayden "Jay" Powell is an American central banker who currently serves as a governor of the Federal Reserve. He was the 16th chair of the Federal Reserve from 2018 to 2026, succeeded by Kevin Warsh. He was previously both a lawyer and investment banker in the private sector before entering public service.
